Jane’s love of politics led her to political staff positions at the Senate of Canada as well as Queen’s Park in addition to organizing and working on various election and leadership campaigns in Ontario and New Brunswick. Later, Jane joined a private government relations firm in Toronto providing strategic advice to her clients on federal and provincial legislative issues.
Since making Waterloo home, Jane has ‎focused her energy on building a strong and vibrant community through volunteerism. Recognizing the important role public schools play in our community, Jane volunteered in various roles over the years in public schools and served as a board member of the local Canadian Cancer Society organization and Waterloo Region Family Network. Currently, she is a board president of SVP’s Alumni Investee SHORE Centre and an SVP Board member. A passionate supporter of the local arts community and advocate for fair compensation for artists, Jane helped to create the Art Investment Fund at the Kitchener-Waterloo Community Foundation and has organized art shows in support of local artists and charities. Most recently, Jane co-founded The Essentials Fund at the Waterloo Region Community Foundation to provide an unrestricted grant to non-profits to provide essential items for their clients.
